Mark Gargiulo

Baritone
Winner of the Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition, Mario Lanza Voice Competition, and the Bel Canto Foundation Competition, Mark Gargiulo has an impressive list of performance credits in opera, oratorio, and musical theatre.
Mr. Gargiulo has performed with Virginia Opera, Central City Opera, Pennsylvania Opera Theatre, Opera Northeast, Ash-Lawn Highland Festival, Eugene Opera, Boheme Opera Company of New Jersey, and Lyric Opera of Dallas.
He has performed such roles as Dr. Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Marcello in La Boheme, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro, Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, and Silvio in Pagliacci. His Gilbert and Sullivan roles include Sir Joseph Porter in H.M.S. Pinafore, Samuel in Pirates of Penzance, and the 2nd Yeoman in The Yeomen of the Guard. Most recently with Opera Northeast, he performed Captain Corcoran in H.M.S. Pinafore.
He toured abroad and recorded the role of Amonasro in Aida with Europa Musica 2001. In musical theatre he has performed Tevya in Fiddler on the Roof, King Arthur in Camelot, Charlie Anderson in Shenandoah, and Emile in South Pacific. Making his Carnegie Hall debut in 1995 singing Bach’s Magnificat, in 1996 he returned to perform Faure’s Requiem. He has recently performed as soloist with the West Point Band, the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and the Warwick Valley Chorale. Mr. Gargiulo is a graduate of the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts and Temple University.
